How a pending listing becomes recommended

At least 14 people vouch that your business is real and does what it says, from the public partner directory; and
your Google Business profile has more than 14 reviews.

Until both are met your listing shows as pending and is never recommended in the app. Once both are met it's admitted automatically — we don't gate it. Anyone can also up- or down-vote a listing in the directory; a business with more down-votes than up-votes isn't recommended. Listing is free; placement is never paid, and the in-app ranking never changes for money.
